Style Society

School of Style’s Style Society is an exclusive, members-only club for our graduates.

Students of our Fashion Stylist Certification program (Live or Online) become eligible for enrollment in this private membership club upon completion of the program.

The purpose of Style Society is to provide further support once students have graduated. Since 2008 School of Style has become widely known by the world’s top stylists, agencies, brands, and photographers as the place to hire expertly trained, elite class of intern, assistant, and key stylists.

Through the club’s many features, we provide our graduates with direct job opportunities and introductions to industry professionals at the highest level, as well as continued advanced training and community support, through our private Facebook group and members-only online content vault.

*Style Society is an optional, paid membership program, and is not available to graduates of our Summit of Style, Personal Stylist Certification, or Menswear Stylist Certification programs.

Membership Fees:

$19.97 Per Month or $197 Per Year

See below for a detailed outline of its many features, and its terms and conditions.

Style Society Benefits

  • Style Society Job Network

There are many dIfferences between traditional fashion schools and School of Style, but by far the biggest difference is that we make sure our graduates find work immediately upon graduation. In fact, our students work so much that we had to dedicate a unique social media hashtag to them, just to keep track of their successes! #OURGRADSWORK has become our battle cry for the past eight years, and it continues to spread.

As a member of our world-famous Job Network email list, students receive direct job postings from stylists, agencies, brands, and photographers on a daily basis, which are exclusive to our graduates and not available to the general public. Our graduates have worked with literally hundreds of stylists, celebrities, magazines, photographers, directors, and agencies as a direct result of this amazingly powerful resource.

So what kind of gigs are we able to pass on to our graduates? Here are a few examples of types of jobs and hookups we’ve been able to share directly with our Style Society members in the past:

    • Beyoncé’s Lemonade visual album, Formation Tour, and Superbowl Halftime show
    • Full-time E-commerce Net-A-Porter and Barney’s.com
    • Editorial shoots with magazines like Harpers Bazaar, Nylon, Elle, Vogue, Wonderland, Interview, and Glamour
    • Ad campaigns for Lexus, Smartwater, Victoria’s Secret, and Levi’s
    • Fashion showroom internships
    • Various costume design jobs in film and TV
    • Fashion shows at NYFW and other cities
    • Personal Stylist client referrals
    • Paid Studio Services jobs at Bloomingdales and paid positions at various fashion libraries.
    • Featured stylist on E! Network Oscars TV special, including VIP access to the Academy Awards
    • Paid digital/virtual styling jobs at Keaton Row, Stitchfix, and Trunk Club
    • Test shoots and editorials with up and coming photographers and brands
    • Endless A-list celebrity red carpet appearances with Hollywood’s top stylists (who have requested confidentiality)

*While most of the job opportunities we connect our students with are predominantly based in LA and NYC, we’re receiving more and more national (and even international) grad hire requests on a monthly basis. In 2016, we shared jobs in places like Nashville, Miami, San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta, and some international locations.

  • School of Style Certificate of Completion

By submitting your SOS Certificate of Completion along with your resume in job applications, you will powerfully inform styling industry professionals that you are not only trained and qualified, but that you have been trained by the best and have earned your membership in our exclusive network.

  • Invitations To Fashion Networking Events and Parties

Networking is essential to your career success. Whether it’s an invitation to a party, store opening, trunk show, showroom sample presentation, fashion show, or just an announcement of a new collection launch or direct designer introduction, our staff works diligently to make sure you’re part of the action and making the connections you deserve.

  • Access To Our Private Style Society Facebook Group

At School of Style, we value and celebrate community. Our private Facebook group is where our staff and students come together to continue to support and encourage each other upon course completion.

If you’re experiencing a career dilemma, need to bounce an idea around, find a designer contact, get opinions on your new website or business card, or even get a crew referral for a test shoot, this is your one-stop-shop for information and support. Get instant answers and community interaction in a safe place with like-minded people, who all share one common goal: Reaching their highest career potential as a stylist.

Continue to receive exclusive mentorship chats with our founder Luke, as they periodically drop into the group via our Facebook Live video feed to offer impromptu lessons, and answer questions.

This group also serves as a real-time hub for job and event posts, showroom and designer invitations, as well as announcements, and industry-related posts from fellow grads. You can even post jobs that you need help with to other members! Need an intern? Post it to the group, which provides direct access to our entire network of students.

  • Style Society Advanced Online Lessons

With unlimited access to our members-only online portal, you’ll receive exclusive access to an entire archive of resources, including our advanced training videos, as well as an extensive collection of bonus material not offered in our classes.

Each month we will publish new, highly focused video lessons, only available to our graduate members. The advanced lessons provide up-to-date solutions to the most common career challenges our graduates routinely face in the industry post-graduation. They also offer time-tested strategies for career advancement and growth, which are crucial to success at all levels- from intern to assistant, to key stylist.

With your membership, you’ll have the luxury of logging in over and over again, on your own time to review all of the lesson videos and bonus material on-demand.

Think of this Style Society member benefit as the ‘Netflix’ of stylist training. With 24/7 access to the content vault, club members can continue to learn long after they’ve graduated, and the support you need will always be there for you when it’s needed.

  • Exclusive Stylist and Industry Leader Lessons

After graduation, we want you to continue to learn from the best of the best and to stay up-to-date on the current state of the styling industry. Through our exclusive Industry Leader Lessons, we will deliver in-depth, very specific lessons from the world’s top stylists (including some of our superstar graduates), costume designers, stylist agents, photographers, and fashion editors directly to you, on-demand, in our membership content area.

Can you imagine having the biggest and most highly respected players in the fashion industry as your mentors? Since 2008 School of Style has hosted some of the most prominent stylists and fashion professionals in the world to teach at our classes, and as a Style Society member, you’ll have unlimited online access to their experience and wisdom at your fingertips.

This immense value is just one more way we’re working to provide you with the highest level of aftercare as a School of Style graduate.

*Membership to Style Society is contingent on completion of and graduation from Stylist Certification Program, and may be terminated at any time at the sole discretion of School of Style. Rules of conduct and engagement will be provided to each member prior to enrollment into the club. Failure to comply with these rules will result in immediate and permanent removal from the entire School of Style network.

STUDENT SUCCESS STORY

Christy Bamber

Being a lifestyle blogger, my career focus was a little different from many others in the course. I wanted knowledge to give me confidence to write about fashion. This intense 9-day course provided so much more than what I expected. Luke’s realist education about the world of styling provides a roadmap on how to be successful in this industry, without giving false expectations.

STUDENT SUCCESS STORY

Holly Katz

Having a previous fashion education from another university didn’t compare to learning what we did in such a short time at the School of Style. It’s a different experience working with people currently in the industry vs. people who worked in the industry 25 years ago. School of Style’s main focus is getting you to work immediately.  No other program has your ‘personal’ career development and interests at heart.

Kenzie Marie

I’ve always loved fashion and couldn’t wait to become a Stylist. As a graduate you become eligible for all the internships that are available, and the staff really try to support you as much as possible! I cannot wait to get my career started as a fashion stylist…all thanks to School of Style.

STUDENT SUCCESS STORY

Lydia Michael

Without a doubt, the best thing about School of Style is the network and opportunities. SOS sends high-profile job opportunities in the fashion industry to grads frequently as well as invites to some really cool networking events.

STUDENT SUCCESS STORY

Christin Galarraga

When I moved to LA I knew I wanted to do styling full time but I didn’t have the connections to open those big doors for me. School of Style opened those doors, and also gave me the tips and tools I needed to compliment what experience I already had. Without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today in my styling career.

Paula Parisotto

If you are interested in a career as a wardrobe, or personal stylist you cannot not attend School of Style.  The knowledge, insider wisdom, experience and opportunities you will gain in a relatively short amount of time would otherwise take you years to acquire. Plus you’ll get jobs immediately after graduating. It’s a no brainer.

STUDENT SUCCESS STORY

Genevieve Tate

Thanks to SOS and the Style Society grad program, I’ve worked a lot with stylist Marni Senofonte as well as Beyoncé on ‘Project Lemonade’, her Super Bowl performance, the ‘Formation’ video and the ‘Formation World Tour’. I’ve also worked on two seasons of ‘How to Get Away with Murder.’

STUDENT SUCCESS STORY

Lisa Barry

The classes provide incredible information.  It would take you years of school to be able to extract the same amount of relevant information.  SOS teaches you everything you need to know to be successful- with none of the fluff.  Luke and Lauren keep it real and tell you exactly how it is and are also there to answer questions, support you and help you make connections in the industry.

STUDENT SUCCESS STORY

Rachel Jarvis

Since graduating from SOS I’ve worked Runway, Grand Theft Auto, a Dr. Dre TV show, a Blake Griffin Vizio commercial, The Bachelorette, The Bachelor, Chelsea Lately, After Lately, Ray Donovan, Joan Rivers and the list goes on. Right now I don’t have a website, I’m too busy already!

STUDENT SUCCESS STORY

Lauren Allen

I just recently graduated from School of Style’s online class, which has allowed me to be a full time college student and SOS student simultaneously. I’m blown away by the amount of job emails I receive every day through the Style Society alumni club. Taking this class gave me the confidence, knowledge and support that I needed to move up in my fashion styling career.
