LEARN HOW TO DO WHAT YOU LOVE FOR A LIVING!

Find out exactly how to become a stylist so you can finally ditch your day job and start working your dream job. At School of Style #OurGradsWork

School of Style’s Menswear Styling Certification focuses on the practical as well as artistic aspects of men’s styling. Due to the ever-growing popularity of menswear in the fashion industry- and pop culture in general- it’s now more important than ever that stylists gain mastery over this unique skill.

This in-depth class is absolutely essential to anyone wishing to achieve success as a
fashion, wardrobe, or personal stylist.

Please note that this class does not provide insight into the business of styling as a career. This class is solely focused on how to style men.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

In this program, you will learn all about styling men! From the psychology to the tactical skills required to dress dudes. This course is going to open up new opportunities in your styling career.

Why Menswear Matters

In Module 1 ‘Why Menswear Matters’, you will learn why styling men matters to your career and all of the different job opportunities available to know once you’ve mastered these new skills.

History of Men’s Style

In Module 2 ‘History of Men’s Style’, we are hopping inside our time machines to learn about men’s fashion throughout the years. From fashion history to style icons, all the way to style archetypes – you will leave this module with a headful of knowledge to help influence your styling decisions going forward.

Media and Research

Module 3 ‘Media and Research’, is all about finding inspiration through books, films, and TV is huge for stylists. We are going to point you in the right direction on which resources are best when it comes to styling men.

The Psychology Of Men’s Style

Module 4 ‘The Psychology Of Men’s Style’ is an important one, as it dives into the psychology of styling men. A common misconception is that styling men is “easy” because they aren’t as particular as women. Wrong! Men have a host of issues and insecurities too, so it’s imperative that you learn exactly how to deal with them.

Fit and Tailoring

Module 5 ‘Fit and Tailoring’ dives into the most technical aspects of men’s styling – fit, color, and body types. Without fully knowing and understanding these elements, you simply can’t make your client look the best they can be.

Styling with Accessories

You would think that accessories don’t apply to men, or that they wouldn’t have that many. After all, men don’t have necklaces and earrings like women. However, once you break things down, men do have a ton of accessory options, and that is what module seven is all about.

Shopping

Shopping is the subject matter of Module 8, now that you know how to style it’s time to learn where to go for the best in menswear.

Having a previous fashion education from another university didn’t compare to learning what we did in such a short time at the School of Style. It’s a different experience working with people currently in the industry vs. people who worked in the industry 25 years ago. School of Style’s main focus is getting you to work immediately.  No other program has your ‘personal’ career development and interests at heart.
