June Marie, better known as June Ambrose, is a self-taught stylist that began her career by serendipity. Before her first styling opportunity, she worked at an investment company for a few years and realized that it was not her passion, even though it paid well. Luckily, a good friend of hers presented an internship opportunity with Uptown MCA Records soon after. Someone in the record company asked for a stylist and June asked “what’s that?” After learning what the job was about, she thought to herself  “I can do that.” That was her first ever styling gig and the rest is history.

Now 20 years later, her clientele includes famous artists and divas: Jay-Z, Will Smith, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Missy Elliot, Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, and Mariah Carey just to name a few. She has styled more than 100 music videos and revolutionized hip-hop music and fashion. She is responsible for Missy Elliot’s futuristic look, the red leather suits that Sean “Diddy” Combs and Mase wore,\ and Busta Rhyme’s elaborate caftans in her early career; “I wanted to bring high fashion to urban music, to bring aspiration, imagination, luxury.” And she did.
